The start to the 2015 harvest has been everything we could have wished for. We have some great looking product this year and are hoping for a continuation to the pleasant weather over the next few weeks.
Manor House Stables – Tom Dascombe
The previously mentioned Brown Panther had stormed to victory in the Dubai Gold Cup at Meydan towards the end of March. Brown Panther has now won five Group races over the past two years including the Group 1 Irish St Leger.
Sir Michael Stoute
The Spring York meeting continued in a great vein when Sir Michael Stoute’s Snow Sky won the Yorkshire Cup after a great battle with Brown Panther trained by Tom Dascombe.
Andrew Nicholson
Andrew kicked off his season in his usual form with a win (JetSet) and two seconds (MHS KINGJOULES) and (CALICO JOE) in the Advanced Sections at Belton. Two wins in the Advanced at Chatsworth followed on JETSET IV and Perfect Stranger. This excellent form continued when a superb first two days at Badminton saw Andrew going into the Showjumping in the lead on Nereo where he was beaten into sixth place.
Clarehaven Stables - John Gosden
What a start to the year for Clarehaven Stables with the first and second in the Dante, Golden Horn and Jack Hobbs repeating the feat in The Investec Derby. The stable then went on to win the French Oaks ( Prix de Diane) with Musidora winner Star of Seville.
Sir Michael Stoute - Newmarket
Sir Michael Stoute's Integral was an impressive winner of the Group 1 Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket in July.
Ian Williams Goodwood
The opening race of the Goodwood festival was won in tenacious style by the versatile Teak, from the Ian Williams stable. The Goodwood Stakes is one of the longest distance races of the Flat season being over 21 furlongs.
John Gosden Taghrooda
The wonderful season goes on. Taghrooda continued a fine season, winning The King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot. In the following week at Glorious Goodwood the stable won two Grade 1 races with Kingman in the Sussex and Sultanina in the Nassau. Kingman then travelled to Deauville and impressively won the Group 1 Prix Jacques Le Marois.
Andrew Nicholson Makes History
World number one Andrew Nicholson wins Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials for the third year running with the same horse a feat never before achieved.Andrew Nicholson riding Rosemary Barlow’s Avebury (By Jumbo) improved two places on his dressage position to win the prestigious event. He underlined the superiority of his partnership with Avebury by immaculately delivering one of the final day’s mere 12 clear rounds
Scott Dixon
Scott Dixon had the best start to the turf season when his Cock Of The North won the opening two year old race of the season at Doncaster. After his triumph in the Brocklesby he then went on to finish second in The National Stakes at Sandown. This has been Scotts best start with 14 winners on the board already.
